This follows their recent success in hitting the 2 GW milestone of operated renewable energy projects in the UK. BayWa r.e.’s remarkable growth was achieved in a little more than two years since the foundation of the UK services business.
The awards took place at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham, hosted by comedian Zoe Lyons and were attended by team members from BayWa r.e.’s UK services business who are responsible for the company’s solar operations.
BayWa r.e.‘s win reflects the team’s work on the ground mounted solar farm Stormy Down in South Wales which was built on a former landfill site. The project required significant health and safety measures beyond any previous project.
Stuart Beattie, Managing Director of BayWa r.e. Operation Services Limited, said: “This is a fantastic win for us and great recognition of the hard work and dedication of our entire team in the last few years. To receive this award after our recent achievement in hitting the 2 GW mark in the UK is another great success”.
Oliver Niedhöfer, Managing Director of BayWa r.e. Operation Services Limited, adds: “This win is outstanding proof of our professional approach to challenging projects in the UK’s green technology sector. In the coming months we are aiming to further strengthen our technical capabilities to provide additional services to our clients.”
In the UK, BayWa r.e. offers full scope O&M services for solar assets as well as technical and commercial asset management for wind farms in the UK and Ireland. Contributing significantly to the portfolio of more than 7 GW of BayWa r.e.’s operated renewable energy assets worldwide, the UK service business is a key element in the company’s commitment to digital transformation and innovation.
