BayWa r.e. continues relationship with Innergex

to overview

BayWa r.e. has sold Eole de Plan Fleury and Les Renardières wind farms to Innergex Renewable Energy Inc., a developer, owner and operator of renewable energy projects, and Régime de rentes du Mouvement Desjardins, a Québec-based private pension plan.

This follows the sale of the Montjean Theil-Rabier wind farm to the same partners last year and continues the successful relationship between the companies. BayWa r.e. will again retain the ongoing technical and commercial management of the plants. Closing of the transaction is expected during this summer.

The two windfarms, located in Champagne-Ardenne, have a combined output of 43 MW. Can Nalbantoglu, Managing Director of BayWa r.e. France SAS, with responsibility for the French wind project business, comments: “This second sale to Innergex and Régime de rentes du Mouvement Desjardins continues our successful relationship and the success of our business in France. For global investors in renewable energy, it’s essential their assets are well maintained and operate at peak efficiency. By using the latest turbine design technology, and through our ongoing technical and commercial management expertise, we’re able to ensure effective asset optimisation.”

Overall, BayWa r.e. has already erected and commissioned eight wind farms in France with a total installed capacity of 91 MW. The company also currently manages the technical and commercial management of wind and solar plants on the French market totalling 210 MW.

“Our business in France, across both wind and solar, continues to go from strength-to-strength”. Adds Matthias Taft, Board Member of BayWa AG, responsible for the energy business. “France is a key European market for us and the country’s commitment to generate increasing amounts of energy from renewable sources means our growth in both the commercial and domestic sectors looks set to continue.”
